ABOUT:
Handpoked magick motifs, traditional ‘Filipino’ batek markings, and contemporary body adornments. Made with love and respect on Gadigal Country (Sydney AU)
WHAKAARO:
I reside and work on the lands of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation. I pay my respects to elders past and present, and acknowledge all Aboriginal peoples’ unbreakable bond to this vast and beautiful continent. Sovereignty was never ceded. ••• My ancestry is that of the Ilokano people of Northern Luzon in the so-called Philippines, and the ever resilient people of Ireland and Scotland. Aesthetically my tattoo practice is heavily influenced by the artistic styles of these cultures, and ethically my practice is rooted in the precolonial belief system of “kapwa”. I operate from a private studio in Pirama (now known as Pyrmont) on the outskirts of the Sydney CBD. My studio is always a welcoming space to people of all genders, ethnicities, and abilities. ••• I believe that body adornment is a powerful tool for reclaiming connection to our roots, affirming our identities, and just feeling good about ourselves. I’m grateful to be able to assist people in this goal through provision of my services.
